How to prevent rats from entering large capacity wheelie bins, euro bins Communal bin stores that house large capacity wheelie bins for flats or restaurants are a rat’s paradise as they provide food and shelter. Our stainless-steel bin cover solves this problem by keeping the rats out. This cover is our heavy-duty version and is made from 2mm thick stainless-steel plates, it can be used on any hole from 20mm to 80mm. Use the two supplied bolts and add them to the holes in the plate on the edge of the hole opposite each other as shown in the photos, add the backing plate and tighten with the wing nuts, clamping both parts together. The holes allow the bin to drain while still keeping access closed, preventing anything entering the bin from underneath, once our cover is fitted there is no reason to remove it. The original manufactures drainage hole cap at the bottom of the bins is often missing due to the poor turn in design, as it easily becomes loose and drops out. The purpose of the hole in the bin is to allow fluids to drain out, but if the hole is not re sealed afterwards using the cap it leaves the bin open for rats and other unwanted pests to access. The bin then becomes the go to place for rats to get food and shelter. Our bin cover does not need to be removed once fitted, the reason we designed and manufactured our own cover is simply to allow the bin to drain while still keeping access closed. You will receive 1 Round cover, 1 Backing Plate, 2 Bolts, 2 Wing Nuts
