How to prevent rats from entering large capacity wheelie bins (euro bins)? 

Communal bin stores that house large capacity wheelie bins for flats or restaurants are a rat’s paradise. They provide a source of food and shelter for rats.

The drainage hole cap at the bottom of the bins is often missing. The purpose of the hole in the bin is to allow fluids to drain out, but if the hole is not sealed afterwards using the cap it leaves the bin open for rats to get into. The bin then becomes the go to place for rats to get food and shelter.
